Foreign Minister George Vella discussed bilateral and regional issues during a meeting with his Spanish counterpart Jose Margallo in Madrid this morning.

The Foreign Ministry said the two ministers discussed areas of bilateral cooperation including tourism, financial services, maritime affairs and investment in the pharmaceutical sector.

They also discussed immigration, the situation in the Mediterranean after the Arab spring, and EU issues.

The two ministers also signed an agreement which provides for Maltese oil storage in Spain.
