The Under-14 and Under-15 football teams from the Tarxien Rainbows Youth Nursery are currently preparing for a 10-day training camp in the Czech Republic.

During the training camp, the Tarxien teams will participate in the 'Postorna Cup 2003', to be played at the new stadium of SK Tatran. This four-day event, starting on September 6, will feature teams from the Czech Republic, Austria, Slovakia and Malta.

The Tarxien contingent, comprising 28 players, six officials and parents, will leave Malta on Thursday, September 4.

Besides the football commitments, the Tarxien players will be taken on cultural and educational excursions, visiting cities like Prague, Wien and Bratislava.

A visit to the olympic training centre in Nymburk also promises to be a highlight of their stay as the young Maltese footballers are expected to meet the Czech national players.

The organisers of this training camp have also planned to take the Tarxien contingent to watch the Division One match between FC Brno and Sigma Olomouc.

At present, Tarxien's U-14 and U-15 teams are training every day in preparation for the pre-season 'Cassar Shield' tournament, organised by the nursery between August 29 and September 1.
