The Prime Minister’s family grave was targeted again yesterday after vandals etched the initials ‘BWSC’ onto an adjacent wall at the Addolorata Cemetery chapel.

The graffiti was discovered by workmen at the cemetery. BWSC refers to the Danish company that won the controversial power station extension tender.

Lawrence Gonzi’s father, affectionately known as Ġiġi, died last September and was buried next to his wife, Ineż, who died two years ago.

The Prime Minister’s mother’s grave was vandalised and torched last May and obscenities were scrawled on the grave.

The Nationalist Party strongly condemned the vandalism, saying the actions were shameful, insensitive and scaremongering attacks that belittled the perpetrators.

The Labour Party also condemned the attack and urged the authorities to find those responsible and bring them to justice. It also expressed its solidarity with Dr Gonzi’s family.
