Vandals have marred picturesque Dwejra in Gozo by spraying black paint across different parts of the Heritage Park including boat houses, a kiosk and the rocks.
"Such insensitive attacks against our very own heritage undermine the synergy and hard work that is taking place to protect and upgrade our tourism product." Andrew Calleja, chairman of the Malta Environment Planning Authority (Mepa) said in a statement.
Mepa, together with the Ministries for the Environment and for Gozo, San Lawrenz Local Council and Nature Trust (Malta) has been working on a range 23 measures to improve the site. The work is co-funded by the EU.
