Carnival celebrations are round the corner and the Valletta Waterfront plays its part, turning more colourful and playful. Large hand-crafted masks on the façade and artistic performances put this magical place in theatrical mood, encouraging visitors to enter a world of colour, fun and fantasy.
A full programme of activities kicks off tomorrow at 6 p.m. with animators, including a stilt walker, juggler and balloon modeller, who will be providing entertainment for the young ones, keeping them active at all times. On Saturday small games are organised by the animators in the morning and repeated in the evening, enhanced by more dancing and music by a live six-piece band. Maskaruni will also be on display serving as an interesting backdrop for some photos with a difference.
A Carnival Experience at the Valletta Waterfront will also take place this morning and Saturday evening. Situated within the bastion stores behind the promenade, this exhibition will include an eclectic and colourful display of carnival costumes and a photographic exhibition dating back to carnival editions of the late 1940s.
