Four international experts, understanding the vision and purpose of TEDxValletta, have chosen to come and be part of Malta’s first TEDx conference being held tomorrow.

The theme of TEDxValletta being held at St James Cavalier in Valletta is Innovation meets Inspiration.

The four international speakers will be addressing the conference. Jo Simpson, coaching leader and author of best-selling book They Thought It Was All Over – They Were Right, will tackle the subject of Intuitive Decision Making; Tim Dobson, founder of Role Model Consulting will discuss the theme Just be Clever – The Art of Management; Christoph Glaser, executive director for the International Association for Human Values, will talk about Doing Well by Being Good; while Craig Goldblatt, motivational speaker and business coach will discuss Personal Leadership.

Event curator Deborah Webster said the response to the even from the local community had been phenomenal, showing a huge appetite for TED-like experiences and the ethos it stands for. In fact, the event is oversubscribed.

“Behind any great idea, endeavour, or organisation is an even greater human being, and human beings are key in bringing about change,” said Ms Webster.

TEDxValletta – Innovation meets Inspiration, will be filmed and all presentations will be made available on www.tedxvalletta.com. Anyone who wishes to be involved is encouraged to join TEDxValletta’s facebook page or to contact TEDxValletta directly through www.tedxvalletta.com.

A non-profit organisation, TED started as a four-day conference in California 25 years ago, and has grown to support world-changing ideas with multiple initiatives.

TEDx is a programme of local, self-organised events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience and is part of a revolution in global education made possible by local organisers wanting to engage their communities. Every week, in multiple cities, people are coming together to pursue ideas worth spreading.

The annual TED conference invites the world’s leading thinkers and doers to speak for 18 minutes. Previous TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Al Gore and Richard Branson.
