Valletta qualified for the second qualifying round of the Europa League when they drew 2-2 with Keflavik of Iceland this evening. The aggregate score was 5-2.
The Citizens had been favourites to reach the second round after beating the Icelandic team 3-0 in the first leg at home, but it was not a walk in the park.
Dayson Falzon put Valletta in the lead shortly before the break but Keflavik surged into the lead with goals by Gudmudsson in the 55th and 72 minutes before the game was restored to even keel when Priso scored Valletta's second in the 82nd minute.
Valletta will play Irish team St Patrick's in the next round.
