Valletta 0 - St Patrick Athletic 1

St Patrick qualify for the third round with a 2-1 aggregrgate

Valletta just missed out on history-making qualification to the third round of the Europa League this afternoon when they went down to Irish Premier League side St Patrick Athletic. The game, where attacks were rare, was played in the small Centenary Ground in Ta' Qali.

The solitary goal came 10 minutes from time from a Declan O'Brien header, the same player who scored for St Patrick's in the 1-1 draw in the first leg against Valletta in Ireland a week ago.

A goalless draw would have been enough for Valletta to qualify.

St Patrick had Darragh Ryan sent off two minutes before the goal, but Valletta were unable to convert their numerical advantage into goals.
