Ali Ibrahem Eldessouki, 38, an Egyptian national, was remanded in custody today after having been accused of the attempted murder of a Valletta kiosk owner who was stabbed earlier this week.

He pleaded not guilty to the attempted murder of Anthony Fenech, 56, striking him with a penknife and injuring him. He also denied relapsing.
