Valletta residents have won back parking bays which were recently reserved for new ministries, Mayor Alexei Dingli said on facebook.

He said that following the intervention of his council and thanks to talks with the ministers, the slots had been handed back to the residents.

He said further talks are being held on Valletta's parking problems.

The Times reported two days ago how the council had complained after two white parking bays were transformed into slots reserved for a ministry and a parliamentary secretary without it being informed.

The two spaces, next to St Paul's Church, were reserved for the Economy Ministry and for the justice secretariat.
