Ryan Fenech has been given a three-match suspension after being sent off for dissent in the dying moments of Valletta's 2-0 defeat to Hibs.

Fenech was one of three Valletta players to be dismissed in Sunday's clash but received the heftiest punishment for his antics when leaving the field.

Valletta captain Gilbert Agius has been suspended for two games after his poor tackle on Andrew Cohen earned him a red card in the first half of the top-of-the-table match against Hibs.

Defender Steve Borg incurred a one-match ban after seeing red for a last-man foul on Luis Edison who scored the two Hibs goals that brought Valletta's unbeaten run to an end. Valletta face Mqabba on Saturday.

Hibs left-back Adrian Pulis, red-carded after receiving two yellow cards on the stroke of half-time of Sunday's game, got a one-match ban.

Balzan's Brazilian playmaker Pedrinho has been hit with a two-match ban after being shown a straight red card for elbowing Mqabba's Mark Anthony Psaila in Sunday's opening game. It was Pedrinho's second red card in five league matches.

Tarxien duo Orosco Anonam and Justin Grioli will miss Sunday's derby against Hibs after receiving a one-match ban. Anonam was sent off in the 1-0 win over Mosta while Grioli collected his fourth yellow card during the same match.

Two other players, Ħamrun striker Anderson Ribeiro and Sliema defender Clifford Gatt Baldacchino, have been banned for one game for four yellow cards.
