I am so angry and disgusted that seven members of our Planning Authority board have again green-lighted the building of a 3,000-square-metre petrol station in an outside development zone (ODZ). I view them with the same utter contempt they reserve for our heritage and quality of life.
The minister for planning, who has promised to change this ridiculous and damaging policy, is, apparently, still waiting, possibly in order to allow time for a few more petrol stations permits in ODZ areas before closing the gate.
Cheap land for speculators, no less, aided and abetted by the authorities, who should be looking after our interests.
