Żminijietna - Voice of the Left will take part in the mass demonstration called in protest against the policies of an anti-social government. We call for a change in the method used to calculate electricity and water bills to ensure that basic consumption is protected while wasteful practices are penalised. The government must commission a scientific study to quantify what is "basic consumption".

Up to now, the method used by the government is a regressive one where basic consumption is penalised. It is a shame to see certain workers' representatives agreeing in principle with the increases in tariffs.

Solidarity between workers is being undermined by a class of people whose main aim is to destroy workers' unity and solidarity through a campaign of fearmongering on the premise that workers have no job security and are living in precariousness, so they will accept any measure without protest or action.

Żminijietna will, therefore, take part in the mass demonstration because it believes in a society that protects social justice, solidarity among workers and the common good.

Żminijietna condemns a society that is based on precarious work, families living at risk of poverty and the privatisation of public services.
