Organisers of the US Masters in Augusta plan to make charitable donations of around $3.4m after last month's tournament.

Every year since 1997, the Masters has provided significant funds for the growth of golf throughout the world as well as the local Augusta community with overall contributions totalling more than $29 million.

The main benefactors of this year's Masters are the First Tee national youth development programme, which will receive $1 million, and the Community Foundation for the Central Savannah River Area, for which $1.25m has been earmarked.

Also receiving significant contributions are the Tiger Woods Foundation and the Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund.
