A US agency for International Development (USAID) workshop on Libya held in Malta came to an end today.

The workshop lasted just over two days.

A USAID representative said the US government was still committed to assist Libya and its people.

“We are executing active programmes in the country, which are being implemented by local partners and Libyans.”

These programmes - on democracy and governance, the representative said, were being monitoring through a combination of staff on location and others remotely by staff located in the region.

The programmes were being implemented with the involvement of NGOs as well as consulting firms.
