An urgent call for O positive blood was made this morning by the Blood Bank.

The bank said that 50 bags of blood were required daily and reserves were very low.

Besides these regular 50 bags, the bank appealed for donations to fill another 60 bags with 'O' positive blood.

The blood bank in Guardamangia will be open until 6pm today.

It will also be open any other day of the week between 8am and 1pm.
