The Wild Birds Regulation Unit said today that it is updating its register of live-capturing (trapping) sites in terms of the Conservation of Wild Birds Regulations.

Persons who are either in a possession of a live-capturing licence (Carnet de Chasse) or are interested in applying for live-capturing license in future, were requested to call at the Paying Agency’s office at the Vegetable Market in Ta’ Qali between this Wednesday  and Wednesday July 30 between 1pm and 5pm from Monday to Friday and between 9am and noon on Saturdays.

The unit said this registration exercise was not a call for applications for a live-capturing licence. Registration of a live-capturing site shall not entitle one to practice any live-capturing activity on the site in question and does not entitle one to any licence under the Conservation of Wild Birds Regulations. On the other hand, should the Government decide to receive applications for live-capturing licences in future, only those applicants who have had their site plan registered with the Wild Birds Regulation Unit will be eligible.

More details are available from the unit on Tel: 23886214 /215.
