A 76-year-old woman from Attard died this evening when she was hit by a car in Victor Vassalli Street, Attard.

The police said the woman was walking on the pavement with a 70-year-old woman, also from Attard, when she was hit by a Toyota Vitz that was being driven towards Rabat by a 28-year-old man from Birkirkara.

The driver lost control of the vehicle hitting the woman. The 70-year-old was not injured but suffered from shock.

The accident happened at around 8.45pm.

An inquiry is being held.
