Three divers, two Britons and an Austrian, have died while diving in Gozo.

In the first incident, a 64-year-old diver died after encountering difficulties off Reqqa Point in Zebbug.

The man, an Austrian, was brought ashore by people on the scene and was certified dead on the spot, the police said.

In the second incident, two divers from a group of 10 - a man and a woman - died after they found themselves in difficulty. A third diver also found himself in difficulty but made it to shore alive.

He needed medical attention.
