Police in Mississippi arrested and charged two people with murder today after two police officers were fatally shot yesterday during a traffic stop in Hattiesburg, a state official said.

Mississippi Department of Public Safety spokesman Warren Strain said Marvin Banks, 29, and Joanie Calloway, 22, were each charged with two counts of capital murder.

Banks' brother Curtis, 26, was charged with two counts of accessory after the fact of capital murder. Strain said they were arrested overnight at different locations in Hattiesburg. It was not immediately clear if the three had attorneys.
