A 29-year-old man from Luqa this afternoon pleaded not guilty to trafficking cocaine.

Renald Attard, of Luqa, also pleaded not guilty to being in possession of cocaine and cannabis.

Police Inspector Herman Mula said Mr Attard was arrested by the police yesterday after he was found in possession of 30 grams of cocaine and weighing scales.

Defence lawyer Steve Tonna Lowell said the drugs were for his client's personal use and requested bail.

The accused was granted bail against a personal guarantee of €2,000 and a deposit of €500.
