A man claiming to have a bomb strapped to his chest took two hostages at a New Hampshire campaign office for Democratic presidential contender Hillary Clinton on Friday, New Hampshire media reported.

Sen. Clinton, who was scheduled to campaign in Virginia today, was not present at the office in Rochester, New Hampshire, according to television reports. New Hampshire's state police bomb units had been sent to the scene.

"A young woman with a six-month or eight-month-old infant came rushing into the store just in tears, and she said, 'You need to call 911. A man has just walked into the Clinton office, opened his coat and showed us a bomb strapped to his chest with duct tape'," witness Lettie Tzizik told WMUR TV.

New Hampshire State Police Maj. Michael Hambrook told CNN that the man had freed some hostages but was holding others.
