A day retreat for teachers and other people who are in any way involved in formal education will be held on November 11 at Mount St Joseph retreat house, l/o Mosta, led by a team from St Aloysius’ College. Through Biblical reflections presented in creative ways, participants will reflect on their calling, its challenges and joys together with others in the same profession.

Fr Mark Cachia SJ will lead an event called ‘Beatitudes on film’ from November 16 to 18 at Mount St Joseph retreat house during which participants will be invited to explore particular Beatitudes through animated movies, namely ‘Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God’ (Despicable Me); ‘Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted’ (Up); and ‘Blessed are the merciful, for they will receive mercy’ (Big Hero 6).

Bernardette Briffa will lead a retreat entitled ‘Living my first Christmas with a loss’ on December 1 at Mount St Joseph retreat house. The retreat will be an opportunity for participants to pray and receive support after experiencing a loss that has marked them in life, such as the loss of a loved one, of a job, of health, or of faith, as they prepare for Christmas. Child minding will be provided.
