An unbranded juicer bottle being sold in Malta has been found to distort when hot water is poured into it, raising fears that it could scald users.

The Market Surveillance Directorate within the Technical Regulations Division of the Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority said that consumers should not use the bottles and said that those selling them should immediately remove them from the market.

The MCCAA said the fact that they are unbranded and carry no directions for use is in itself an infringement of the Product Safety Act.

The Market Surveillance Directorate can be contacted through 2395 2000; by e-mail msd.mccaa@mccaa.org.mt or on the MCCAA’s Facebook page.
