The sheer volume of old stone I have seen being ‘skipped’ out of Montgomery House, Floriana, over the years makes me wonder if this building, erected during António Manoel De Vilhena’s reign, has or ever had any heritage protection at all.

Most probably, MiddleSea House PR will now write back saying they have all the necessary Planning Authority permits to continue disembowelling this historical building. Is that not most reassuring! They have been at it for months, this time round.

What a sad, sad country.
