I want to thank the visitors for leaving us kilos of rubbish after their recent picnic in Xlendi, particularly in Kantra Street, on the secluded side bay of Xlendi. It was never clean there - after the weekends one can find all sorts of discarded items, from pizza boxes, tins and tissues, to condoms and sanitary towels.

But this time the guests exceeded our expectations. The amount of regular remains was quadrupled - an utter disgrace! I cannot imagine how we will ever reach the target of Gozo becoming an eco island by 2015. Honestly, if the attitude of the public coming to or living in Gozo is that nature is no man's land where one can dump whatever one likes, then I doubt about the effect of Catholic education... The natural environment is where God manifests Himself most, through His creation, which we are part of.

Here this doctrine doesn't seem to apply. Goodbye, Eco-Gozo (and Malta)!
