A 62-year-old British woman was critically injured this morning when she was hit by a car while walking at Xlendi Road, Fontana.

The incident happened at about 7.40 a.m. 

The police said two cars collided and one of the vehicles then hit the woman.

The cars were a Toyota Yaris driven by a 32-year-old woman from Fontana and a Skoda Favorit driven by a 20-year-old woman, also of Fontana. The Briton was hit by the Skoda.

The injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
