Several activities are being held at the University today, during an open day.

Visitors this morning explored how research impacted everyday life, what careers one could follow, how earthquakes happened and how olive oil was produced and exported in Roman times.

Children had their faces painted and were invited to attend an illustration class and play board games, while adults could learn about health, nutrition, food labels or what science taught about the world.

Other activities included bicycle maintenance and safety measures, sports, a treasure hunt, live music, talks, exhibitions and robot wars.

The open day is until 5pm.
