The first of the two University of Malta graduation Masses for this year was held yesterday at St John’s Co-Cathedral.

Present were graduands from the Faculties of Arts, Education, Engineering, Laws, Science, Theology, Information and Communication Technology and Centre for Communication Technology.

Mass will be held today for graduands of the Faculties of Built Environment, Dental Surgery, Economics, Management and Accountancy, Medicine and Surgery, Health Sciences and all other institutes and centres.

A total of 2,737 students are graduating this year during ceremonies starting tomorrow at the Jesuit Church in Valletta. Ceremonies for postgraduates will be held in Valletta up to Thursday, November 25, while graduation ceremonies at Sir Temi Zammit Hall, Msida Campus, start on Monday November 29 and go on until Monday, December 6.

1,658 of this year’s graduands are women and 1,079 men. These include a total of 124 students from overseas: 69 women and 55 men.

The largest number of graduands, 515, is from the Faculty of Economics, Management and Accountancy, followed by 397 from the Faculty of Education and 356 from the Faculty of Laws.
