Champions Manchester United will go all out to see off Fulham at Craven Cottage and issue a warning to their rivals that the 4-1 home rout at the hands of Liverpool was just a bad day at the office.

Alex Ferguson and his players have certainly got the experience to weather the storm.

United's four-point gap at the top and their game in hand (home vs Portsmouth) mean that both Chelsea and Liverpool have a mountain to climb if they are to dethrone the champions.

Fulham, currently in ninth place, have been beaten twice by United this season, away in the Premier League and in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup when they were crushed 4-0 in front of their own fans.

Boss Roy Hodgson has stated that he was far from confident about his side's ability to put another dent in Ferguson's title charge.

Chelsea's unbeaten record under Guus Hiddink persisted with their 1-0 win over Manchester City at Stamford Bridge. After the match, the Dutchman said he hoped United's loss to Liverpool would pave the way for an exciting title run-in.

Captain John Terry committed his future to the Blues after the win over City who had been keen to sign the England defender.

Midfielder Deco, who joined Chelsea from Barcelona last summer, will be out for the rest of the season after suffering a recurrence of a hamstring problem.

This afternoon, Chelsea will clash with Tottenham, fresh from their fine win at Aston Villa, in a London derby at White Hart Lane. In 15 seasons since the start of the Premier League, Tottenham have conquered Chelsea only once at home − 2-1 (Dawson, Lennon; Makelele) in November 2006. In the same fixture last season, the two sides shared eight goals in a 4-4 draw.

Spurs' latest win has seen them climb to a mid-table position, six points above the relegation zone. Tottenham are undefeated in their last six league and cup encounters.

It was indeed an excellent week for Rafael Benitez and his Liverpool team as the Reds demolished both Real Madrid in the Champions League (at home) and rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford. In midweek, Benitez signed a new five-year contract that will keep him at Anfield until 2014. Tomorrow Liverpool take on fifth-placed Aston Villa.

If Benitez can rely on the Steven Gerrard-Fernando Torres tandem for the rest of the campaign Liverpool will continue to flourish.

Villa have struggled badly in the past month but what has upset manager Martin O'Neill the most is not the team's performances but the fans' jeers for Gabriel Agbonlahor.

Awesome Arshavin

Arsenal's progress to the quarter-finals of the Champions League has lifted their confidence as the Gunners hit Blackburn for four to climb over Aston Villa into fourth place on better goal difference.

The Gunners have a seven-goal advantage over their rivals as the competition for the fourth and final place in the Champions League intensifies. In midweek, Arsenal beat Hull 2-1 at home to reach the semi-finals of the FA Cup.

Arsene Wenger's men square up to Newcastle at St James' Park. Russian playmaker Andrei Arshavin has started to leave his mark and is already a favourite among the Arsenal fans.

At Fratton Park, Portsmouth entertain in-form Everton. Pompey are desperate to take the three points after they won only once in their last nine league and cup outings.

Portsmouth are just one point above the relegation zone whereas Everton are placed sixth, four points behind Arsenal and Aston Villa.

Veteran goalkeeper David James was showered with praise by both managers following his fine performance in the draw between Middlesbrough and Portsmouth.

Everton boss David Moyes claimed that the current squad is the best he has ever had. The Toffees are almost certain to qualify for the Europa League, which will replace the UEFA Cup, and are in the last four of the FA Cup.

Blackburn, still reeling from that 4-0 hiding at the hands of Arsenal, play hosts to West Ham at Ewood Park. In the past five home outings Sam Allardyce's side, who are just a point away from the relegation trapdoor, have won only once.

After their home draw against West Brom on Monday night, West Ham have 40 points and are in contention for qualification to European football.

Like West Ham manager Gianfranco Zola, Wigan boss Steve Bruce also hopes to lead his team to European football next season.

The Latics, at home to Hull, will be chasing another victory after their away win over Sunderland. After Saturday's success, Bruce hailed the impact January signings Charles N'Zogbia and Ben Watson have had on his team.

At the City of Manchester Stadium, Mark Hughes's men cross swords with Sunderland. Manchester City are keen to add more points to their tally and improve their position in the standings.

Sunderland manager Ricky Sbragia will have to make do without the suspended Kieran Richardson as the former Manchester United winger will complete his two-match ban following his 10th booking of the season in the draw with Tottenham.

Despite their aggressive approach, Stoke have slipped to the bottom part of the classification following their defeat at Everton. Manager Tony Pulis will rally his players for their clash with fellow strugglers Middlesbrough at the Britannia Stadium.

Boro boss Gareth Southgate gave a bold response to the fans who chanted that the team had only one player (Turkish striker Tuncay).

On the pitch, Middlesbrough showed their fighting spirit as they earned a point in the last minute against Portsmouth.

West Brom are now four points adrift of second-from-bottom Middlesbrough. The 0-0 draw at West Ham will have given the Baggies a confidence boost ahead of their home encounter with Bolton. The Trotters have not registered a win in seven away outings.
