The 11 trade unions that are resisting the new utility tariffs said today that the Deloitte analysis of the workings of the utility tariffs had revealed new points which were of concern to them.

They did not say what these points were, but said that their concerns that the impact of the eco-reduction had not been considered had now been confirmed. The unions have complained that far too few people would benefit from the reduction.

The unions reiterated their directive for consumers not to pay their utility bills in the first 45 days of receipt.

The Deloitte study, published on Friday, found that the model used in the drawing up of the new energy bills was correct but when it was compiled the verification of the data's accuracy had still not been verified.
