Three unions representing Air Malta employees - the Airline Pilots Association, the Association of Airline Engineers and the Union of Cabin Crew met this morning under the chairmanship of Forum president John Bencini to discuss the current serious situation and the way forward.

They decided to invite the GWU for a meeting to be held later this week to discuss developments and possible action.

The unions expressed their concern at the difficult times Air Malta employees were facing, working under stress and anxiety everyday, unaware of what the future held for them.

At the same time they all feel very responsible for the health and safety of passengers trying to concentrate solely on their very delicate work.

The three unions agreed to work as a common front and not in isolation and that preferably any actions taken to safeguard the interests of all Air Malta workers should be taken conjointly.
