Heritage Malta has been awarded Unesco funds to make an extensive report into the state of conservation of all mosaics in Malta, a number of which are to be found in the Roman Baths limits of Mgarr, Malta.

To date, all rectified photography on the site has been concluded, and work has started on the conservation mapping of the mosaics at the Domus Romana in Rabat. As soon as this is finished, work will start on the Roman Baths at Ghajn Tuffieha.

Answering a parliamentary question by Censu Galea (PN), Culture Minister Dolores Cristina said that all these studies would have to be examined by the Italian expert appointed to launch an action plan to determine what resources would be needed for the project to be finalised.
