The number of persons registering for work in May stood at 7,141 compared
to 7,292 in the corresponding month last year, the NSO said today
 
It said data provided by the Employment and Training Corporation (ETC) showed a decrease of 44 persons registering under Part 1 and a decline of 107 among those registering under Part Two of the unemployment register.

The number of registrants aged 45 and over dropped by 0.8 per cent, to 3,021. Decreases were recorded among all age-groups except for persons aged between 30-44.

When compared to May 2013, an increase of 421 persons was recorded among those who had been registering for more than one year. On the other hand, the number of persons who had been registering for less than 21 weeks declined by 366.
