A third party private contractor working on road works in Marsa hit an underground 11kV Enemalta cable at 9.45 a.m. which resulted in the suspension of supply in some localities, Enemalta said.

Parts of Ħamrun, Marsa and Sta Venera were affected by this outage.

Enemalta employees went on site to identify the extent of the damage.

Since the cable, which had been dug up during road works, was exposed, it was quickly isolated and supply to the affected areas was restored at around 11 a.m.
