The committee of Qormi FC have some hard decisions to make next week due to the administrative and financial problems afflicting the Premier League club.
On Thursday, Qormi convened their members for an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) in the wake of the resignation of president Redino Apap last month.
Apap cited the lack of enthusiasm and backing of the club’s supporters as the main reason behind his decision to stand down.
The current committee’s next meeting, scheduled for next Monday, is likely to define Qormi’s 2015/16 season as the officials now have the members’ mandate to re-duce the club’s operating costs.
“The members who attended the Extraordinary General Meeting are leaving it to the committed, who is due to meet on Monday, August 17, to decide whether to cut the costs in line with the restricted budget the club has at present,” a statement from Qormi FC said.
“The committee meeting on Monday will be a decisive one as it will determine the future of Qormi FC.”
Qormi also said that the posts of president and treasurer are still vacant as no-one came forward to fill the two key positions.
