The Union Ħaddiema Magħqudin is commemorating Worker's Day today by concentrating on occupational health and safety, stressing the need for more knowledge and education.

In his statement for the occasion, UĦM President Gejtu Tanti said that the union also wanted to continue sending the message about the value of employment. Although, fortunately, the unemployment rate had gone down in the past few months, the UĦM believed that every effort still needed to be made to help those who wanted to work to find a job.

While the UĦM was committed to continue improving conditions of work, it believed the time had come for the country to legislate to ensure that workers - whatever their skin colour - were not exploited.
