A 63-year-old man has been sentenced to two years in prison and fined €3,000 after being found guilty of drug trafficking.

Grazio Spiteri from Victoria had admitted to the crime in May last year. He had previously been accused of two other separate crimes.

Magistrate Joe Mifsud noted that the accused had collaborated with the police about who had provided the drugs, thus leading to a reduction in prison term. The court also ordered psychological treatment for Spiteri, who will be serving his term at Mount Carmel Hospital.

The prosecution was led by Inspector Malcolm Briffa while Dr Anthony Stellini appeared for the accused.
