Alex Borg yesterday moved closer to a berth in the Last 32 of the IBSF World Snooker Championship after beating Dutch player Raymond Fabrie 4-1.

It was Borg's fourth successive victory from as many matches in Holland.

The in-form Malta champion is now among the favourites to earn one of the top four places in Group H which means qualification.

Yesterday, he compiled breaks of 118, 88, 62 and 61.

Meanwhile, Joe Grech revived his slim chances after three upsets with a confident 4-2 win over Kieran McMahon, of Northern Ireland.

Grech's best break was a 73 in the third frame.

Today, Borg plays against Robert Trinbacher (Austria) and Grech faces Mohammed M. Shehab (UAE).
