There were two traffic fatalities in the second quarter this year, the National Statistics Office said.
The NSO said that the number of reported traffic accidents in the second quarter reached 3,741, almost at par with the corresponding quarter last year.
The largest increase was registered in Gozo.
On the other hand, the southern harbour district registered the largest decrease (7.5 per cent) in traffic accidents.
In the period under review, 438 traffic casualties were reported, of which 250 involved drivers. These included 214 slight and 34 grievous injuries.
The injuries sustained by two drivers, one male and one female, proved fatal.
