There were two traffic fatalities in the first quarter this year.

The National Statistics Office said the number of reported traff c accidents in the period reached 3,572, 10.1 per cent more than in the same period last year.
Increases were recorded in all districts.

In total, 362 traffic casualties were reported, of which 207 involved drivers. A total 176 injuries were slight and the another 31 were grievous.

During this period, 33 other persons (10 passengers and 23 pedestrians) suffered grievous injuries, while 120 (86 passengers and 34 pedestrians) were slightly injured.

The injuries suffered by one passenger and one pedestrian were fatal.
