Two of the three Transport Malta employees who were arrested following police investigations yesterday have been released, the authority said.

The third employee, Gordon Zammit, remains under arrest.

It said in a brief statement that it had been informed by the police about their release so it removed their suspension from their jobs. Police investigations on the third employee are continuing.

A raid was carried out at TM's Road Directorate at around midday on Monday and manager Daniel Cordina, Mr Zammit, who is his assistant, and field officer Joe Portelli manager were arrested after the police received information related to alleged bribery.

Other sources said the tender was related to road works but the contract had not been awarded recently.
