Two men were today given an 18-month jail term suspended for four years after they pleaded guilty to stealing a cable worth not more than €2,300.

Mario Farrugia, 42, and Nathan Cooper, 28, both of Sta Venera, also admitted to holding stolen goods.

Mr Farrugia admitted driving an unlicensed and uninsured car and breaching bail conditions.

Mr Cooper admitted relapsing.

The court fined Mr Farrugia €2,500 and suspended his driving license for a year.
