Two Maltese made it to the podium in the first race of the Sicilian Minimoto Championship, in which they participated for the first time over the weekend.

The race was held in Triscina.

Dylan Cauchi (25 years) came in second, having lost first place to Danilo Sapienza in the last corner when he went a bit wide.

Glenn Schembri was third while Ryan Faenza (13) had to drop out because of engine problems.

The drivers were assisted by mechanic Frans Schembri.

Five races remain in the championship.
