The two main political parties are this afternoon holding mass meetings for their supporters - the PN in Sliema, the PL in Floriana.

The Labour Party's mass meeting has the Granaries bursting at the seams  with thousands waving party flags and placards and hooting fog horns.

PL leader Joseph Muscat will address the rally and Danish indie pop band A Friend in London have been flown over to play some of their numbers.

But it's their song 'A New Tomorrow', now the PL's election anthem and set to be performed in tandem with a children's choir, that the masses will be singing along to.

Nationalist supporters have also come out in their thousands to fill Dingli Street, where they will be addressed by Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi.
