Two Italian women, aged 41 and 50, were injured yesterday when they were run over by a Fiat Punto at Saqqajja in Rabat, the police said.

The women had just alighted from a bus when they were hit by the car driven by a 38-year-old man at about 7.10 p.m.

They were both rushed to Mater Dei Hospital. Their medical condition was not immediately known but police said the injuries did not appear to be life threatening.
