Updated 1pm with Birkirkara incident

Four men were injured, at least one grievously, in three separate incidents this morning.

A 34-year-old man sustained grievous injuries following a horrific car crash on the Marsa bypass. 

The police said they were called in to investigate the crash at 5.30am between a Toyota Elf driven by a 34-year-old from Marsascala and a Toyota Vitz, driven by a 24-year-old man from Msida. 

The two men were taken to hospital but the condition of the second driver is still not yet known, according to the police. 

In another incident, a 67-year-old man was seriously injured when his leg got entangled as he was operating a mechanical tractor in Siggiewi.

The police said it was informed of the incident in the Salib tal-Għolja area at 9.20am today.

The man was rushed to hospital in an ambulance where he was found to have suffered serious injuries.

In a third incident, a 39-year-old man from Birkirkara was rushed to hospital after he was run over by a car in Ganu Street.

The car was driven by a 21-year-old from St Paul's Bay. The man's condition is not yet known. 

Investigations into the three incidents are ongoing.
