A 29-year-old man from Siġġiewi is in a critical condition after his car crashed into the wall of a house in Ibraġ early yesterday morning.

The man was driving a Maruti Gypsy when the accident happened at about 4.40 a.m., the police said.

He was assisted by police and rescuers from the Civil Protection Department before being taken to Mater Dei Hospital for treatment. Ibraġ Road was temporarily closed after the accident.

In another incident, an 18-year-old man from Sta Lucija was seriously injured when his Volkswagen Polo crashed into a tree in Valletta Road, Mqabba. Police said the incident took place at 2.20 a.m.

The man was assisted by a hospital medical team and CPD rescuers. His injuries are not life-threatening.
