A Colombian-born woman resident in Madrid today admitted in court to having imported 200 grams of cocaine in capsules hidden in her body.

The woman - Gloria Stella Vargas Pena, 38 - was arrested two days ago on arrival in Malta.

A man who was accused of conspiring to import the drugs - John Faber Uruena Molina, 31, also Columbian resident in Madrid - pleaded not guilty.

Both were remanded in custody.
