Two Britons were hospitalised late yesterday after a brawl in a bar in Nelson Street, St Paul's Bay.

The police said they were alerted at about 7 pm. A patrol car which was going to the scene came across man, aged 40 in the street who sought medical assistance. The officers administered first aid before he was taken to hospital, where his condition was described as serious.

Another man, 63, who was in the bar, was also hospitalised but his injuries are slight.

Further investigations are under way.
